Beef Week: Beef Week was kicked off today with the Wingham High School Junior Field Day. More than 50 students from four different local schools attended the ag plot at the high school to have some hands on experience with animals.
Mother's Day: Mother's Day was enjoyed across the region on Sunday May 11. Helen Knight our On the Bulga correspondent reported on the Earth Mother's Day in Elands.
Prize heifer: Wingham High School has taken delivery of a pure bred angus heifer worth $2000 - a prize won last Friday. A small team of ag students attended the Singleton State Judging Competition on Friday May 9 to compete against schools across the State. They also won a commercial steer.
Champion: Cattle owners Michael and Georgina Saunders took their Lowline bull “Tralin Zanzibar” (locally bred by Pauleen Spackman) to the Hawkesbury Show last weekend. The Lowline took out top prizes including supreme champion bull against two Senior Royal Sydney and Royal Melbourne show winners.
