Road closure: CAPARRA Road will be closed for reconstruction works between the hours of 8am and 4pm Monday to Friday, for the period Monday, May 26 to Friday, June 20.
Tigers: HAVING won the pre-season, and their first competition game, the Wingham Tigers were confident in taking on the 2013 undefeated premiers, the Wauchope Blues at Wauchope on the weekend. But the premiers flexed their muscle and scored three tries in the last seven minutes to win 46-16.
Snow: WINTER came early to the area with Barrington Tops receiving its first dusting of snow for the year. Publican of the Victoria Hotel Moonan Flat Peter Barnett said the unseasonable weather had drawn hundreds of people to the area in the hope of witnessing a snow shower.
Fete: THE Whiddon Group Ladies Auxiliary held its annual fete at the Masonic Hall on Saturday. President Marilyn Kelly said she was very pleased with the results and funds raised will go towards equipment for the residents of the Whiddon Group's aged care facility in Wingham.
