FIRST grade again proved that they will be a force to reckon with this year with a gutsy performance earning them another draw. Wingham dominated the second half scoring two goals to one and deserved to probably come away with the win. Team shape and commitment to follow the game plan is paving the road for our success. Stand outs this week, Alex Ihlow, Ryan Haley, Mitch Bevitt and Kynan Groundwater. Just like to wish Daniel Ihlow the very best in his new venture, he has been a stalwart to this club and is the back bone to our success with his leadership and commitment. Thanks Daniel, the boys will do their best to send you out a winner like you are.

Wingham v Camden Haven
PREMIER league reserve grade sponsored by Wingham Bowling Club overcame a sluggish first half and a 1-0 half-time deficit with a rousing finish, running out 2-1 winners over Camden Haven in a tough away fixture.
Wingham got level just after the hour mark when striker Chris Simpson raced onto a through ball and chipped over the head of the advanced Redbacks ‘keeper and into the net. The resurgent Warriors stayed on the front foot, pressing for another goal which was not long in coming. After teasing the Redbacks defence Alex Ihlow passed into the 18 yard box for Chris Simpson only for the ball to be handled by a Redbacks defender, leaving the referee no choice but to award the penalty. Osama Ali, returning from a lengthy injury spell, tucked away the spot kick to give the Warriors a 2-1 lead.
The Warriors defended stoutly as Camden Haven threw themselves into the search for an equaliser but thanks to the woodwork and some superb acrobatic saves from ‘keeper David Castro Wingham held on for the win.
Centre back Jack Bevitt was adjudged Players’ Player thanks to a commanding performance at the back while Edward McCormick turned in a blinder on debut at right fullback.
