Snake Wranger: A RED belly black snake has been captured on Isabella Street . The large snake was spotted in the laneway between Bent on Life and Ashlea Road Boutique and a local volunteer, Andy Rowlan came to the rescue. Andy turned up on his pushbike equipped with just a simple snake hook and a pillowcase.

Rugby: Wingham Sporting Complex will be the venue for the Group Three Rugby League pre-season finals on Sunday. This will be in first grade and under 18s and all eight clubs will be involved. Winners from the opening round will play for the major honours with the losers involved in a plate competition. Games start from 10am.
