ALL eyes will be skywards in the final days before the Wingham Show. Wet weather has been forecast for the rest of this week but Wingham Show Society secretary, Raelene Marshall is confident the few millilitres expected on Saturday won't dampen show spirits.
"It's a thousand times better than last year," she said referring to flooding that saw much of Wingham cut off. "With any luck the forecast rain on Saturday won't even reach Wingham."
With woodchopping and rides not seen since 2002 firmly back on the agenda together with a chainsaw competition that has lured entries from as far as Queensland - visitors can expect plenty of fun at the fair. Raelene is confident that even with a little dampness in the air the crowds will simply grin and bear it. "The show will be good no matter what," she said.
