All hands are on deck as final preparations are made for this weekend's annual show.
It has been a big year for the new show committee.
After the 2013 show was cancelled due to severe wet weather, the focus has been firmly on making the 129th Wingham Show the best to date.
Organising ingenuity has taken place behind the scenes for the past seven months and this week extra help has been called in to put all the best laid plans into action.
Last Sunday a team of helpers rolled up their sleeves and worked to carry the heavy cabinets between the cattle and hall pavilions. Elbow grease and a good bit of spit and polish will now turn those cabinets into sparkly display cases for many of the 178 entries already in.
There will be knitting, tapestries, photographs, pickles and cakes on show together with all manner of country craft.
"It will be a really decent exhibition," said Wingham Show Society secretary, Raelene Marshall who is happy to report that there has been some last minute interest in produce. "Produce was looking doubtful but it's now very promising," she said.
Extra help has come from a work for the dole crew and Raelene said she has a list of chores ready for them. "They will be able to fix this and that and ensure everything is working."
The food vans have arrived on site, rides are rolling in and as Raelene said on Monday "it's really starting to happen."
