AUSTRALIA Day celebrations and an official ceremony led by Eric Richardson OAM have succesfully concluded in Wingham.
After the Australian flag was raised by members of First Wingham Scout Group, there was a welcome by Deputy Mayor Cr Robyn Jenkins and a prayer with Reverend Darrell McKeough. Australia Day addresses were heard from local students: Wingham High School captain Eddi Raglus and Wingham Public School captain Nash McPherson.
Wingham Rotary Club also announced the recipients of the 2014 Rotary Awards:
Pride in Workmanship - Kevin and Wendy Bakewell of Bakewell Haulage
Sports Person of the Year - Luke Bailey
