The usual supporters of the club attended, with a special thankyou to Grant and Peter for coming.
Colin Brown resigned as president and has been made a life member of Wingham Tennis Club, a very deserving recipient. Election results were:
president - none (please members put your hand up to help us out as this is a very important position to the club); vice president Colin Brown;
secretary Lawrie Adamson; treasurer - Dean Periera; assistant secretary \Colleen Webster.
Committee - Gloria Dawson, Pearl and Hugh Gooding, Shane Ludeke, Peter Rourke, Grant Johnston (publicity officer) and Sonya Howell (recorder). The club has received a $3000 grant towards finishing the fence around the complex. The fence at the carpark end is in need of repair.
The Thursday night women's comp came to a good finish with the winners the Pink team of Nola Baurehuit, Angela O'Donnell and Maureen Hollebone, second White team of Barbara Hall, Ann Munns and Chelsea Becker. Most improved was Chelsea Becker. Best and fairest was Carolyn Reynolds. The night ended with a lovely Christmas party. The bus trip to Sydney tennis is on Wednesday January 8, leaving the MRD tennis courts at 6am. Cost is $120 each, 15 years and under $100. Book on 6552 5635.
