o Open mixed
o Open men's
o New over 35s mixed competition
o New junior competition
Wingham's Summer Touch competitions are played in a family friendly environment and will commence on October 18 and continue through to March 2014.
The mixed, over 35s mixed, men's and junior competitions are played on Friday nights at the Wingham Sporting Complex between 6pm and 8.15pm.
Wingham Touch provides full canteen facilities, including barbecue and bar, and we also have a large TV to keep the younger kids entertained.
New junior touch competition
THE new junior touch competition is for children six to 10 years. Games will be played on Friday evenings and both team and individual nominations will be accepted. The format of the competition will be determined by the number of nominations received. The registration fee is only $15 per child, with no ongoing costs involved. Playing shirts are supplied by Wingham Touch and are to be handed back at the end of each game.
New over 35s mixed competition
THIS exciting new competition has been created to help encourage 'mums and dads' to come back and enjoy a social game of touch football. Players need to be 35 years or older. This is a social competition and no scores will be kept. Other rule changes include: no scooting from dummy half, markers are allowed and minimum of seven players on the field.
Both team and individual nominations will be accepted, so if you want to have a game, but don't have a team, then fill in an individual nomination form. It's that easy!
THE mixed competition is generally divided into four competitions; A-grade, A-reserve grade, B-grade and C-grade. The C- grade competition caters for young players just coming out of the junior competitions. The A and A-reserve grade competitions have six players on the fields, whilst the B and C-grade comps have a minimum of seven players on the field. The mixed competition minimum age is 10 years, a maximum of 14 players.
THE men's competition is for players 12 years and older, with a minimum of 10 players and a maximum of 14 players. The competition is generally divided into A-grade, B- grade and C-grade. Children aged 12 and over are encouraged to nominate teams.
TEAMS and individuals can now register online! It's easy and simple to do. Team captains need to register their team first, and then provide your team-mates with the 'team code' supplied upon completing team nomination.
Players can then register direct to their team, whilst individual players can register online and they will then be placed into a team when nominations close.
Go to winghamtouch.com.au and follow the 'Register Online' link. Payment is compulsory when players register to a team.
Once all nominations have been received, the grading committee will grade all teams into their respective divisions, with a grading review being held after the conclusion of round three.
Registration fees are $60 per adult and $40 for children 10 to 17 years. All registration fees paid after round three. Any teams that does not have the minimum number of players registered by round three, will not be registered with NSW Touch, and as such, will not be allowed to participate in the competition. The registration fee includes basic insurance cover and the Wingham Sporting Complex User Pay Levy.
As the touch insurance scheme is limited and does not cover loss of wages, we encourage all participants to carry their own private health insurance.
Nominations packs are available to download from winghamtouch.com.au, with nominations closing on October 11. Please forward completed nomination forms to Lauders Real Estate Wingham, 49 Isabella Street, Wingham or to email@example.com
