Six new players welcomed
AS a small club we have been very lucky of late, with six new players joining our ranks.
Four of these are experienced players, the latest being Karen Carlton who has moved to our area from Wee Waa.
Also two new players who have been under the expert tuition of club coach Lillian Cross, Maureen Hollebone began playing with us a few weeks ago, but our newest recruit Sinni Wolters had her very first game last Thursday.
Both new players are showing great potential and will be a wonderful asset to our club. A big welcome to these ladies.
Last week we played social bowls which consisted of three games of triples.
Margaret Hinton and Gwen Bell had a close encounter with the win going to Margaret's team by only one point. They had a lot of laughter and noise coming from their rink so obviously they had fun.
Nancy Sandford played Lillian Cross, each skip had a new player in their team, and with the experienced help their bowls game will improve with each game. Nancy's team defeated Lillian's by 21 points to 12.
Narelle Foy and Claudia O'Donnell also had a one point game, with the win going to Narelle.
The overall winner of the day was Narelle's team of Norma Platt and Lorelle Dennes with their highest number of ends won.
Ladies don't forget to put your name down to play consistency championships, entries close tomorrow, Thursday at 9.30am.
Also tomorrow, dress casual for our recruitment day.
Any women wishing to try bowls out are welcome to come. Be at the club before 9am, bowls can be supplied.
A note of congratulations to Lillian Cross, Claudia O'Donnell and Elaine Holden for winning the triples at Tuncurry on Thursday September 12.
Also Narelle Foy and Denise Polley for winning the pairs at Taree West on Wednesday September 18.
All ladies have some well earned prize money to spend. Happy shopping!
