A dinner organised by the Rotary Club of Wingham and Wingham High School has raised $1500 for the continued maintenance of the school bus. Approximately 70 people attended and students prepared and served the meals.
Craig Colvin, who looks after the bus, spoke on its value to the school. Over the past 12 months the bus has travelled 16,000kms which included trips to Newcastle and Sydney transporting students for education and sporting functions. A Rotary spokesperson said this past year the cost to keep the bus on the road was $4500.
The evening was chaired by vice captain of the school, Aaron Worth. Wingham Rotary past president Robert Walsh presented principal Mark Thompson with a cheque for $1500 to support students studying Science and Engineering.
