Group 3 grand finals were held at Wauchope and the Wingham Tigers were in the decider in both reserve grade and under 18s.
In reserve grade, Wingham were up against minor premiers and home tea, the Wauchope Blues.
The Tigers started well, with a try inside the first 10 minutes to lead 4-0.
With a strong wind at their backs, it wasn't until the 27th minute that the Tigers were able to increase their advantage to 8-0 with a try to Joel Kleindeinst.
Five minutes later, Brendan Butler barged his way over to make the score 12-0.
Inside the final minute of the first half, Luke Steel kicked a 40-20. From the scrum win, Brenden Summerfield scored right on the siren, and Luke Steel kicked the goal for an 18-0 lead at the break.
Five minutes into the second stanza, Wauchope scored in the corner following a penalty.
Midway through the half, Scott Sullivan burst through the defence to score under the posts. With Garyn Burns' conversion, Wingham led 24-4.
With five minutes remaining, Sam Power planted the ball down on the goal line, only to have the referee rule no try.
From the ensuing scrum, Wauchope dropped the ball resulting in a try by Alex Studdert in the corner. Garyn Burns' sideline conversion made the score 30-4.
From the kick-off, a tackle by a Wauchope player led to an all-in brawl which saw Brenden Summerfield sent off, along with a Wauchope player, and Sam Power sin-binned.
In the next set of tackles, Luke Steel had a shot at a field goal that hit the posts. Craig Ryan gathered the rebound to score and secure victory 34-4.

Under 18s
THE Wingham Tigers under 18s had the luxury of the previous week off, and had to play against the Forster Tuncurry Hawks.
Early in the game, Michael Bailey swooped on a loose ball and ran 90 metres to score under the posts. He converted his own try for a 6-0 lead.
Approaching midway through the first half, Brodie Myer burrowed over from dummy half on a last tackle play to lead 10-0.
Minutes later, the Hawks scored from a tap kick, and repeated the feat seven minutes later to trail 10-8.
Two tries in the final three minutes of the half gave Forster a 20-10 lead at the break.
The Hawks added a penalty goal 10 minutes into the second stanza, and added a try two minutes later to lead 26-10.
Shannon Ellem then scored midway through the half. Michael Bailey added the extra points to reduce the deficit to 26-16.
But an intercept try to the Hawks ruined Wingham's day and they trailed 32-16 with just 10 minutes remaining.
A late try to Forster Tuncurry after a 40-20 kick made the final score 36-16.
Forster-Tuncurry 36 defeated Wingham District 16 (Michael Bailey, Brodie Myer, Shannon Ellem tries, Michael Bailey 2 goals)
