ON September 12 social bowls was played at home. There was a very close game of triples played between Gwen Bell and her team of Pam Weir and her sister who was visiting from Sydney, Margaret Barber, and Nancy Sandford who had Joan Thorburn and Rae Cannon playing with her. The final score was 14 to 12 with a win to Gwen's team.
The other two games were both pairs. Laurelle Dennes and Pat Marcus defeated Narelle Foy and Maureen Hollebone 24 to 18. However the loss of a six in the second last end was the winning factor in what until then was a very close match. Maureen played some lovely bowls and is showing great improvement.
The other pairs game was between Tina Rushworth and Robyn Gillogly and Leonie Gilford and Gloria Burden with a win to Robyn and Leonie 17 points to 13.
The prizemoney for the day went to the winners with the most ends won, that was Tina Rushworth and Robyn Gillogly. Well done to both girls as neither of them fancies themselves a skip.
Tomorrow social bowls will be played.
