Another disappointing weekend outing in September for fishing for members of the Wingham Services Bluewater Fishing Club, as Mother Nature again caused havoc with windy conditions preventing all but one boat getting out.
The club's two hardy diehards Wayne Reeves and Gary Green ventured out and managed to come home with a few flathead for their trouble. As a result Wayne took out the Bluewater Section for his efforts.
Back on land there was a roll up of 26 members who gathered at the Wingham Rifle Club for the Sunday barbecue and fellowship.
It was good to see senior members Len Dunbar and Col McNeill with us after their health problems and back on deck none the worst.
Lucky winner of the club vouchers this outing was Denyse Budd who was thrilled to accept the vouchers from president Jack Muxlow.
Congratulations and happy birthday wishes to member Bill Ewer who celebrated his 76th on Saturday, September 14 and was treated to a chocolate cake that was shared by all. Unfortunately members Kevin Sullivan and Irene Wilson who were both turning 80 couldn't be with the members due to illness but we would like to send them congratulations on this memorable occasion.
President Jack reminded members that the Laurieton weekend is coming up on October 5, 6 and 7 and that payment is due by the end of the month.
The club's AGM has been set down for Sunday, November 3 at the Wingham Services Club auditorium commencing at 10.30am when all financial members are invited to attend.
This month will see a second outing scheduled for September 28 and 29 and it is hoped the weather will be a lot better so that the boats and fishers can get out and bring home a good catch to make up for all the bad days experienced so far this year.
Until next time take care and hope to see you all next outing.
Pam Muxlow, Publicity Officer
