WHAT a great weekend weatherwise and was a chance for seven members to get out and have a fish in both the bluewater and beach, rock and estuary sections at the August outing.
President Jack Muxlow welcomed 35 members to the BBQ on the Sunday at the Wingham Rifle Club and many thanks to Neil Miller who filled in as chef whilst Derek and Maree were away for the weekend. He also thanked the ladies Pam Dee, Donna and Ronnie who helped with the salads and washing up.
A total of 22 kgs of fish were caught including a nice 2.490 kgs groper by Gary Green along with flathead, bream, luderick and leatherjacket were the other species caught.
Gary Green was the lucky winner of the Beach Rock & Estuary Section and he also won the secret species taking home the Bunnings and Charcoal Chicken Vouchers.
It was a win for Mark McCormack in a long time when he took out the Bluewater
Section winning himself the vouchers from Wingham Gourmet Meats who have come on as new sponsors of the club.
Ron McPherson took home the club vouchers for this month.
President Jack wished his deckie for this outing, Chris Poleszuk a very happy 40th for September 6 and it was also member Carol McGann's birthday on August 16 - all the best and Happy Birthday to these two members.
The next outing will be held on Sept 14-15 and the month will also see a second outing on September 28-29 so hopefully these two outings will see members come home with a bag full.
Wingham Club received an invitation to participate in Landsdowne & Coopernook Fishing Club's Sponsored Fishing Pairs Competition big weekend to be held on 24th/25th August when they have $1000 in prize money and several Wingham members will be competing.
