BASS player Rob Rock knew a few years ago he would one day bring his musical skills to Wingham.
After a memorable pub lunch, Rob of Central Coast band Let There Be Bon vowed to one day return. This Friday he brings fellow band members and a full AC/DC show to the Australian Hotel.
"We are really looking forward to this one," said Rob of their first gig in the Manning.
Rob said the band is not really a tribute band, more a covers band. With a wealth of AC/DC knowledge among the five members they describe what they do as "respectfully paying tribute to the early years of AC/DC with front man Bon Scott".
"Between us there won't be much we can't answer about AC/DC," said Rob who plans to arrive early and "hang."
Unlike most musicians who cover their favourite music, Rob actually does know one of the original members of AC/DC.
"I go fishing with Mark Evans, the original bass player and we have a nice laugh about me ripping him off."
Let there Be Bon will be playing their free gig at the Australian Hotel this Friday, August 23 at 8.30pm.
The band will authentically reproduce all of the hit songs from the High Voltage album through to the Highway to Hell record that established AC/DC as one of the world's biggest rock band.
