EDUCATION Week was celebrated recently around the region and each school held their own program of activities.
At Wingham Preschool, Education Week became Grandparents Week and a call was put out to all grandparents, great grandparents, relatives and friends to visit the preschool for fun filled activities.
“The children loved it,” said director Donna Stirrup.
The grandparents were invited to be a part of the educational program and they completed art, craft, construction, puzzles, and dramatic play activities beside their grandchildren.
The morning’s small group activities were followed by a group time where the children shared their favourite songs, dances and stories.
After all their hard work, the grandparents enjoyed a hard-earned rest and enjoyed a picnic lunch with the children outdoors.
“Our visitors told us they enjoyed being part of our exciting learning environment,” said Donna. “This activity in Education Week allowed us to make connections with families and the community in our fabulous learning environment."
