THE community victory over TransGrid will be the focus of an Australian Story episode next week.
A film crew spent 14 days in the Manning Valley recently filming the area and speaking with members of the Manning Alliance and other key members of the community who helped on the campaign.
“We wanted to tell our story and highlight the beauty and lifestyle of living in this area,” Alliance chairman, Peter Epov said.
“We then wanted to clearly contrast that with how the powerlines would have devastated our region.”
The filming of the show coincided with the Manning Alliance launching their latest campaign for land holder rights.
“It was a busy time,” said Peter who said he gave 14 full days to help put the show together.
“They asked for a lot of background material, photos and press clippings.”
Peter and Bruce Robertson also travelled to Sydney for interviews at the ABC studios.
The show is scheduled to go to air on Monday, August 5 at 8pm and repeated on Saturday August 10 at 12pm on ABC-TV.
