Through to final

01 Sep, 2009 01:20 PM
The Tigers under 11s are the only Wingham football team to make it through to a grand final this season.

The premiership will be decided this weekend against Wauchope, after the team’s gutsy win over Old Bar last Saturday.

It was an extremely close game that went down to the wire and had to be decided in golden-point extra time.

With three tries disallowed for the Tigers, it was the boys’ thumping defence and positive attitude that won them the game – even when all seemed lost and against them.

The crowd were very vocal and supportive of the boys who all seem to lift for each other after each crunching tackle.

Jesse O’Connor scored the first two tries and Dylan Webster scored the match winner.

The final against Wauchope is on at Jack Neal Oval, Taree, from 10am. As many supporters as possible are encouraged to attend to cheer the boys on.
