The Breakers had won all their previous games by a minimum of 16 points.

Wingham took the early lead with a try by Luke Steel.

At the 10 minute mark, the Breakers took the lead by 6-4 after a try from dummy half.

Another try five minutes later extended the home team’s advantage to 12-4.

Again, a dummy half try 10 minutes from half time pushed Port City’s lead out to 18-4.

Five minutes later, Adam Kerr crawled his way over the line for a try. Luke Steel added the extra points. Minutes later, Cody Green scored in the corner after a 50 metre run. The Tigers trailed 18-14 at the break.

The second half started disastrously for Wingham with the home team scoring twice without the Tigers having possession of the football.

A try by Shaun Carr brought the score back to 28-18.

Minutes later, Port City were awarded a try and another try from the kick-off to the Breakers extended the lead to 40-18.

In the final quarter of an hour, the Tigers came storming back.

Beau Prior scored in the corner, followed by another by captain coach Ryan McIntosh in the opposite corner.

A second try to Cody Green, converted by Shaun Carr, in the final minutes made the final score 40-32, with both teams scoring seven tries.
