The Mountain View 3D Archery Club has had a busy month.
Returning from their success at Lake Glenbawn, the members then repacked for the trip to the State of Origin classic tournament at Casino.
With the deluge they suffered up the coast, it was doubtful if this tournament would proceed but with a lot of hard work by their members and a break in the weather it finally went ahead.
Members of the Wingham club showed their expertise in competing against some of the best archers in the land and were again rewarded with medals for their great efforts.
These included Owen Kirkman, Andrew Sherman and junior shooter Brandon Kirkman.
A get-together sleepover was arranged at the club range last weekend.
With tents, caravans and barbecues all sorted, two days of shooting and relaxing made for a good time with fellow archers, some taking the opportunity to visit from other clubs.
The Wingham Scouts have been visiting the club to learn archery. These members can now gain another accreditation.
Some newer archers who attend the Thursday evening indoor venue have now moved over to the intermediate competition lane.
Some of their results are Jill Green 266, Shannon Lewis 243, Brad Jennings 241 and Brendan Partridge 268.
Professional lane results shows why Wingham’s archers are up with the best: Mike Bush 292, Rod Hailes 280, Rod Green 280, Chris Green 278 and juniors Brandon Stephenson 279, Renton Sodder 273.
If you would like to learn archery attend the free introduction sessions on Thursday evenings, from 6 to 7, at the Wingham Showground indoor hall.
