Surfer gains grant

05 May, 2009 01:32 PM
Ryan Hunt of Tinonee has received a grant to further his surfing career under the New South Wales Country Athletics Scheme.

A total of $8100 has been divided among 14 young sportspeople in the Myall Lakes electorate so they can obtain first-class training, coaching and competition in metropolitan areas.

The athletes receive funding to assist with training and coaching sessions as well as participating in competition.

Member for Myall Lakes John Turner welcomed the funding and encouraged people interested in obtaining more information about the scheme to phone the Myall Lakes Electorate Office on 6555 4099.

This funding announcement follows the news that Elands yachtsman Joshua Marks received $800 from the scheme in the Oxley electorate.
