Ben went into the finals in first place and emerged victorious, receiving a belt buckle for his efforts.

Wyatt Young of Gloucester came third and Aaron Anderson of Wingham came fourth.

Aaron was also named the 2008 National Finals Junior Champion and received a rug for his horse.

Maree Anderson (one of the mum’s) and Holly Rasmussen also competed with great success that weekend.

Maree took out a third and fourth placing in the women’s campdraft.

In other pony club news, Wyatt Young and Hannah Fotheringham both competed successfully at the State Australian Stock Horse Show, both winning their age group pointscores after winning or placing in every event, including campdraft, hacking, rider, utility, dressage and sporting events.

Wyatt went on to win the under 13 years overall pointscore rug.

This is an exceptional result given that there were 110 competitors from all over the State.

Wingham Pony Club held a successful registration day earlier this month.
