 Junior lands two major catches

Junior lands two major catches

01 Dec, 2009 12:16 PM
Last weekend the weather was a little kinder to Wingham Services Bluewater Fishing Club members who ventured outside in their boats and to those who participated in the river and estuary section of the final competition for the month of November.

The bluewater section was taken out by Stephen Shakey Brenton who won the Manning Valley Tackle voucher with his flathead beating his captain Jack Muxlow on board Keala J.

Between them, the boys had a great day catching a few decent flathead. Gary Green won the rivers and estuary section with his mulloway receiving the Wingham Home Hardware sponsored voucher.

It was junior fisherperson, Brad Underwood, who scooped the pool taking out both the junior division and secret species with his weighty morwong and for his efforts received a Wingham Services Club voucher for both sections.

One of the longest serving members of the club, Len Dunbar, won the raffle donated by Wingham Services Club.

The next outing, which will be the final one for the year, will be held on Saturday/Sunday December 19/20 commencing at noon on the Saturday and will conclude with a Christmas lunch on the Sunday.

It is hoped that the jolly gentleman in red will be dropping in for a short while to speak to the little ones.
