WINGHAM High School student Ella Hartcher has returned home from the International Field Archery Championships in Germany with a gold medal and two world records.
The year 10 student from Burrell Creek aced the field in the junior girl bowhunter recurved category during the two days of competition.
She emerged victorious in her category to win a gold medal - breaking two pointscore world records in the process.
The International Field Archery Championships are a biennial event, with the 2010 competition held in the village of Dahn in Southern Germany.
Ella made the trip over to Europe for the event with five other Manning-Great Lakes archers, including Mark and James Fotheringham from Burrell Creek, and Liam, Adam and Mark Mowbray from Taree.
Ella also visited France and Belgium while she was in Europe, and arrived back in the country on Monday.
She said she was impressed with the standard of archery on show at the event, and picked up a few tips from senior competitors.
