Wildcats and Devils amongst the action

Wingham Wildcats

THIS week was without doubt the most challenging game for the Wingham Wildcats. Unfortunately within the first few minutes Tegan Wenham, one of our best shooters, fell hard and had to leave the court for the remainder of the game.

This incident resulted in most of the girls having to play in unfamiliar positions.

Some of the girls are only 11 and play against 14 year olds so this displacement along with the very windy conditions impacted on their confidence.

Despite the score in favour of CJ Diamonds the Wildcats gave 100 per cent effort the entire game. Ally, Brielle, Erin, Hayley, Kaitlyn, Kiah, Kirstyn, Taleigha and Tegan - you are a coach’s dream.

Wingham Devils

THE girls put on a very strong performance last Saturday against the Taree City Cheetahs.

The shooters were amazingly accurate considering the windy conditions at the Rec grounds. The centre court players kept the ball moving quickly with some skillful passes that out classed the opposition.

The defence end was particularly strong with Brie Law and Currina Everleigh grabbing some great rebounds and deflecting many more passes to completely pressure the Cheetahs shooters.

Final score was 41 to 20.
