WELL it’s that time of year again. Time to dust off the hockey sticks, mouth guards and shin pads. That’s right, the Wingham Hockey Club’s season is fast approaching. The club is sending out an invitation to all past, present and future players who would like to play.
All girls and boys parents, pull on those joggers and come join the fun. It doesn’t matter whether you’re young or just young at heart, the club has a team for you.
Teams start at under 7s, going to u9s, 11s, 13s, 15s, and 18s for our juniors. The club also has womens teams, and would like to have a men’s team. Officials are also looking for coaches, managers and umpires.
Last year five Wingham teams reached the grand finals. Many kids and women were also chosen for rep teams.
Training days are Tuesday and Wednesday.
Tuesday for u7s, u9s, at Wingham Public School from 4 to 5pm. Wednesday is for all other teams. Juniors (11s-18s) train 4.30-5.30pm, and womens 6.30-7.30pm at Taree Rec Grounds. There is a bus that picks the kids up from The Log at 4pm, returning at 6pm.
Registrations will be taken on Sunday February 14 from 11.30am- 12.30pm at the Wingham Pool. Come join the club for a sausage sandwich and a swim (cross fingers for weather).
