WINGHAM Pony Club members performed admirably at the High and Mighty Zone 9 Showjumping and Equitation championships at Kendall this year.
The club had four representatives competing, who all did extremely well and came home with a bundle of ribbons and trophies.
Wingham Pony Club had Alex Watts, who was jumping A-grade, while Victoria Wilkinson, Dan French and Laine Kennedy all competed in the C-grade events.
Victoria won both rounds of the associates advanced C-grade equitation.
In the associates C-grade showjumping she took out second in the power and speed and AM7, and third in the grand prix and six-bar.
At the end of the competition she won the overall equitation advanced associate champion as well as the C-grade associate champion trophy (Ron Barrett memorial trophy) and the associate highest pointscore trophy (Kathy Green memorial trophy).
Dan took second in both intermediate under 17yrs C-grade equitation rounds. In the under 17yrs C-grade showjumping he won the power and speed and grand prix, came second in the six-bar and AM7. At the end of the weekend, he also won the C-grade junior champion trophy and the highest pointscore C-grade junior trophy (David Simon Family trophy).
Laine won both intermediate under 17yrs C-grade equitation rounds. In the under 17yrs C-grade showjumping she won the six-bar event. She got fourth in the power and speed and a sixth in the AM7.
In the associates A-grade showjumping, Alex won both the power and speed and the AM7, and got a third in the six-bar.
All four represented the club well, both on and off the course.
