DO you enjoy fashion?
Are you creative?
Are you between the ages of 15 years and 21 years?
Why not create a wearable garment or accessory and enter it in the Amazing Wearable Art Parade, to be held in conjunction with the 125th Wingham Show?
Once again the Wingham Spinners and Craft group will host a fashion parade in conjunction with the Wingham Show Society in 2010.
To help celebrate the show’s 125th birthday the youth of the Manning Valley are invited to produce a garment or accessory and participate in the parade.
The competition will be held at 1.30pm on Saturday March 13 at the Wingham Showground.
Conditions of entry are pretty simple.
You make the garment or accessory, you model it or arrange for a friend or fellow student to model it. You do not have to be a student to participate. Either the creator of the article and or the model (preferably both) must attend an information and rehearsal afternoon on Sunday March 7 before the parade on March 13.
There are three categories:
* Classic or traditional: A wearable garment made from new materials (i.e. linen skirt and jacket.)
* Rags to riches: Re-invent, re-use, recycle, old linen, garments, towels, shopping bags etc into a wearable garment (i.e. wedding dress from curtain lining and old doilies.)
* Accessories: Can be made from either new or recycle materials. Hats, shawls, necklaces, belts, bags etc., i.e. hat made from recycled jeans decorated with handmade felt flowers.
There are loads of great prizes up for grabs.
