A NEW world of possibilities has opened up for Wingham High students with the completion of the school's purpose-built language centre.
The $924,000 project has taken on solid form and classes have started to run from the new facility. The building's large learning space is accompanied by two interactive smart boards, a seminar room and an ample storage area for text books and other teaching supplies.
Language subjects at Wingham High have previously been taught in demountable buildings where the language centre now sits.
"It is very good news for our students," language teacher Mrs Teresa Reay said. "We have a lot of space in here, and there are opportunities to link with other resources through our smart boards."
French, German and Spanish are the languages on offer at Wingham High School.
The language centre has been built with funds from the federal government's Building the Education Revolution.
