Thieves hit two Wingham businesses

02 Mar, 2010 12:18 PM
TWO Wingham businesses fell victim to thieves last week during two separate break-and-enter incidents.

Police said Isabella Street shops Narda’s New Generation hair salon and Sunnyside Cafe were broken into during the night of Wednesday February 24.

Entry to the hair salon was gained through a ground-floor rear window.

A sum of cash was taken.

Entry to the cafe was gained through a ground-floor side window.

Nothing appeared to be stolen from the cafe.

Police said a witness saw a group of four people wearing black clothes and balaclavas standing out the back of the buildings.

The witness called police, but the suspects had left the scene by the time officers arrived.

Police are asking for anyone with information on the incident to contact them on 6552 0399 or Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
