THE time has come for the business community of Wingham to forge a path into the future.
The Wingham Chamber of Commerce annual general meeting will see a large cross-section of the community come together at the Wingham Bowling Club at 6.30pm on Wednesday August 25.
Members, past members and people interested in becoming members are welcome to attend.
This year's AGM will have light refreshments and plenty of opportunity to mix and network.
Guest returning officer will be Don Mitchell, the new Wingham High School principal .
New members are welcome to join on the night. Membership for 2010-2011 is $60 and can be paid by cheque or cash up until 7pm on the night.
Renewals by existing members are required to be paid prior to the commencement of the meeting.
Election of the new executive
THE 2009/10 Chamber executive has done a stellar job over the past 12 months, with a solid platform laid down for the 2010/11 group to build from.
The election of officers at the August 25 AGM will see all current positions declared vacant. Nominations are being called for president, vice president, treasurer, minutes secretary, publicity officer, public officer and general executive members.

A chance to celebrate
THE AGM is also a chance for you to celebrate the chamber’s significant achievements of the past year:
* Finalisation and adoption of the strategic plan
* Successful funding application to set up office equipment in the new resource centre to open later in the year
* Farewelling former excellent administration officer, Gillian Stone, and recruitment of new project officer, Di Rayson
* A successful Christmas street carnival - community event and major fundraiser for the Chamber
* Progression of the Main Street Beautification Plan.
Put your hand up
THE Chamber is backed up by a number of strong committees and working groups. Now is the time to put your hand up and make a difference.
Existing groups include antisocial behaviour, Christmas Street Carnival, clean streets and the Main Street Beautification.
