THE St Joseph's Wingham's school hall was filled with music, laughter and plenty of dancing on Wednesday, as students from K-6 boogied their way through the fifth annual Dance-a-thon.
Organised entirely by the senior students, the fun day was to raise money for new library books and school blazers for the representative students.
The years 5 and 6 classes have given up their lunch times over the last couple of months to prepare for the event.
All students and even some of the teachers did 45 minutes of dancing with a short break in between.
They have each raised funds outside of school and approached local businesses for their support as well.
"They've all put so much effort into the whole day," said teacher Shane Cleaver."They should be very proud."
The day also had Book Week celebrations with a book character parade in the afternoon.
Students dressed up in different characters from a range of shortlisted books and each class paraded their characters for the rest of the school.
"It's just good fun," said Shane, "Something they all look forward to each year."
