FOUR time Australian bullriding national champion and five time Australasian bullriding champion Brad Scott will be bringing his expertise to Wingham Showground this weekend with his travelling Brad Scott Bullriding and Steeriding School.
Scott is an internationally renowned bullriding instructor who first began conducting his schools in 1993 for more than 4000 students across the US, Canada, New Zealand and Australia.
Many of Brad’s students have gone on to be Australian and New Zealand champions and also compete on the world stage in professional bull riding.
This will be the first time Brad has brought his school to Wingham.
“It gives me great satisfaction to take a total beginner and see him evolve into a professional bull rider,” Brad said.
“This school we have students coming from as far as Cunnamulla in Queensland and Wangaratta in Victoria. Students range from dead set beginners to advanced bull riders wanting to brush up the riding level.
‘The aim of the school is to teach the basics of bull riding and steer riding as safely as possible and at the same time build confidence.”
The course covers all aspects of bull riding including: safety, from chute procedure, riding technique, dismounting, physical preparation, mental preparation, stretching and professional conduct.
Students will also have their rides video taped for analysis.
The course will be conducted over two days and one night with students able to camp on ground and canteen facilities available.
