WITH the 125th Wingham Show just around the corner, now is the time to make your mark on this historic event.
Entries are now being taken for a host of fields, from agriculture to animals, cooking to craft.
Show organisers believe the art section and Miss Wingham showgirl competition will be among the highlights at this year’s event.
The Miss Wingham showgirl competition will again run over junior (ages 6 to 11) and senior (12 to 16) categories, with a strong showing of entries expected for both fields.
This is a great opportunity for Wingham’s young women to gain experience, confidence, and to show just how much they love their town.
Showgirl entries can be directed to Bronwyn Lewis on 6553 4266 or Rose Avery on 6557 0802.
Budding artists are also invited to get creative and submit their works for the annual art section.
A wide range of subjects with a diversity of mediums will be for sale within an affordable price range and viewers will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite work.
The format is the same as last year, except the entry fee for the encouragement and little pictures is a dollar less at $4.
The new venue will be the right-hand side of the tea rooms at the Wingham Showground.
This year’s judge will be renowned local artist Ron Hindmarsh.
Entry forms for the art section are available in Taree from the Manning River Art Gallery and All About Art, and in Wingham from the newsagency, the show secretary, and at 7 Wingham Circuit.
For more information on the art section, contact Ruth on 6553 4822.
