Hillville man crushed as tree falls on car

A man has died after a tree fell on his car and crushed him at Hillville, near Taree, this morning.

About 7.30am, emergency services were alerted to a vehicle that had been crushed by a fallen tree on Hillville Road, Hillville.

Police found a 2003 Grey Toyota Hilux Utility on an embankment beside Hillville Rd and inside was the victim.

Police believe the 37-year-old Hillville man was driving along the road towards Bucketts Way when the tree onto his vehicle.

A crime scene was established and police are continuing with their inquiries.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.

Police are urging drivers to be vigilant on the roads today and are asking all people affected to monitor the situation and be prepared.
