LOCKS were lopped, follicles felled and hair harvested on the weekend as three local kids underwent a brave shave for cancer patients.
Wherrol Flat sisters Angela and Abbey Sheather-Welsh tackled the razor on Saturday night, raising more than $1000 for the Cancer Council in the process. Abbey looked particularly radical when we caught up on Monday morning. The 11-year-old removed her head scarf to reveal an awesome mohawk!
The girls will also donate their hair to the Princess Charlotte Alopecia Foundation so it can be made into wigs.
“I was nervous beforehand,” Angela said of her shave, “but it was just really exciting.”
Wingham Chronicle paperboy Liam Campbell was another brave soul whose mane was shorn. The Wingham High School student took part in a World’s Greatest Shave event at Sandi’s Hair Salon in Taree on Saturday.
