WINGHAM residents and property owners who are interested in the Greater Taree City Council’s North Wingham Flood Study, and an update of the Wingham Peninsula Flood Plain Management Plan, are invited to attend a workshop and drop-in sessions at Wingham Town Hall next Tuesday March 9.
Greater Taree City Council is currently undertaking a flood study of North Wingham. The focus is on Cedar Party Creek as the main tributary, extending through Wingham township to its junction with the Manning River. However, an update of the existing Wingham Peninsula Flood Plain Management Plan is also being undertaken using revised levels and modelling. Interested local residents and property owners affected are invited to attend a workshop/drop in sessions to discuss the problems, issues and options.
There will be two session times available, the first being held between 2 and 5pm and the second in the evening between 6 and 8pm.
Engineering consultants Worley Parsons, who are compiling the study, will be in attendance with council staff. This meeting follows up from a resident survey council conducted in November-December last year.
For further information about the workshop/drop-in sessions contact council’s development engineer, Will Barr on 6592 5344.
