Wingham Brush Public School will receive a new hall and Elands Public School will receive a new classroom under new funding announced by the federal government last week.
These schools were among 40 in the Lyne electorate which will share in more than $36 million for new building works.
Funding packages range in size from $100,000 to $3 million for new classroom facilities, libraries, halls and outdoor learning areas as part of the second round of the government’s Primary Schools for the 21st Century (P21) program.
This follows an allocation of $15.25 million to Mid North Coast schools in round one last month.
“This is more good news for our schools, especially for the current students and teachers who have been working hard to get their applications for the P21 initiative,” Mr Oakeshott said.
“Again, this presents more opportunities for local contractors, tradespeople and suppliers to put their hands up for this work, so again they need to register their interest with the New South Wales Department of Education and Training who will forward their details to Reed Constructions, the managing contractor for our region.”
