Exploring our military history

09 Mar, 2010 12:13 PM
MOUNT George Public School students were taken on a journey through time last week under the guidance of local military historian Rodney O’Regan.

Children browsed through military relics and got up close and personal with horses Isaac and Ricky during Rodney’s special visit to the school.

Rodney, a Vietnam veteran and retired police officer, dedicates his time to teaching people about our country’s military heritage - in particular the story of the Australian Light Horse.

All of Mount George’s 30 students were given the chance to ask questions about Australia’s military history and Rodney’s travels throughout Europe and the Middle East. They also got to feed Ricky and Isaac a whole bunch of carrots and apples!
