Thieves attempted to steal at least five vehicles in Wingham Thursday night, police report.
Unknown people tried to hot wire a white 1994 Ford Rodeo in the driveway of a Bungay Road home between 11.30pm Thursday and 7.45am Friday.
Their attempt to steal the car was unsuccessful.
A small amount of cash was taken from another motor vehicle parked in Bungay Road between 3.30pm Thursday and 8.30am Friday.
The car was not locked.
The driver's side read quarter window of a green 1990 Holden Commodore was smashed outside a Farquhar Street residence between 11.30pm Thursday and 8.30am Friday.
The thieves tried to start the engine but failed.
Police found a 1990 white Holden Commodore station wagon with smashed windows parked in Bungay Road Thursday night.
The vehicle had also sustained extensive damage to its steering column.
Police notified the owner of the vehicle, a Farquhar Street resident, that it had been recovered.
Thieves also broke into a McPherson Street garage between 7.30pm Thursday and 6.30am Friday.
They removed the padlock on the garage door but no property appeared to be stolen.
