BULLRIDING school came to Wingham over the weekend with students putting their hands up to learn from one the best in the business.
Brad Scott, four time Australian bull riding national champion and five time Australasian champion offered his expertise to 18 students at his travelling bull riding and steer riding school.
“The weekend went really well, we covered everything you need to know about riding. We even had total beginners who, by the end were riding eight seconds,” Brad said.
The group saw students from eight to 45 years, beginners to advanced riders hone thier skills in the arena.
“One person came along because he wanted to tick riding a bull off his list,” Brad said.
Another student who attended the weekend hoped to tune up before competing at the national finals in Tamworth.
Saturday presented perfect weather for the riders, while Sunday’s wet provided a softer, muddier landing.
Brad is no stranger to Wingham Showground arena having competed many times during his career. “Wingham is a great super venue, I even remember competing there at junior rodeos,” he said.
The boys were also well fed by the women in the canteen over the two day classes.
Brad plans to come back to Wingham, after taking his school overseas. Anyone interested in finding out more information about the school, call Brad on 0427 624 305.
