Love your cars, boats, motorbikes and caravans?
Then be at the Wingham Showground this Sunday from 9am to 4pm when some of the finest machinery and the best gear in the State will be on show for the second annual Big Boys Toys Show.
The inaugural show held last April was a roaring success, making more than $11,000 for the Wingham Showground Trust to pay for its kiosk.
This year, attendees can expect a meatier show with twice the number of exhibits, more classic and vintage cars, more variety and more entertainment.
But the Big Boys Toys Show is more than just a bloke’s paradise – the event is perfect for the whole family.
Kids especially will love the rides and attractions including a jumping castle and mini-dodgem cars.
Besides the gear of more than 30 exhibitors on show, there is plenty of entertainment to keep the crowds interested all day long.
Cars will churn up the main arena with circlework and burnouts, and a demolition derby will bring the show to a close about 3pm.
Those who attend the show can even have a go at the circlework. (A $5 entry fee is required for insurance reasons.)
Motorcar enthusiasts will flock to see the racing cars that will be on show from the show’s major sponsor Dial Before You Dig.
One of the major coups for the organisers is Joel Spychala’s Falcon V8 Development Series car, which will be on show fresh off the track from last weekend’s Sandown Midas 400.
Kevin McGrath will also be showing his inboard World Champion speedboat, the Liberty Plus One.
Everything you can think of will be there to see: tow-trucks, veteran trucks, polycraft boats, four-wheel drives, tractors, trailers, a dragster, motorbikes and information about advanced driver courses and bushwalking clubs.
The organisers are even encouraging you to bring along your pride and joy.
“If you’ve got something flash in the way of a car, boat or bike, drag it out of the shed, bring it along and put it on display for everyone to appreciate,” organiser Wayne Lewis said.
While at the showground, enter the raffle for your chance to win big.
Taree Tidy Car has donated a $200 car detail and Manning Communications have donated a set of UHF radios which will be won on the day.
The kiosk will be open all day long, serving hot food and cold drinks.
All funds raised will go towards the Wingham Showground Trust for the upkeep of the grounds.
